Why buy used clothes?

Posted on 10th Mar 2013 @ 1:46 PM

Do you want that brand new wardrobe but don't want to break yourself or the bank buying it? Going to the thrift store isn't as bad as some people might make it out to be. Have you ever spent a fortune on that pair of jeans and then didn't want to wear them because they're stiff and uncomfortable?  You can get that same pair for a fraction of the price already broken in. Or perhaps the season is changing; you're ready to spruce up your old closet but can't afford it.  For the price of one outfit at the mall, you can get a few different outfits at your local thrift or consignment store.

It used to be that thrift stores were just for people who couldn't afford to buy new, but these days even the celebrities are embracing the used culture. Nicole Ritchie and Zac Ephron have been seen browsing the racks, and even Kylie Minogue was spotted buying a necklace at one in her native Australia. You can find just about anything you want and more often than not it's in pretty good condition too.  In fact, if you don't tell anyone then the only one who will know where you're finding these fantastic clothes is you. If you check with your local stores, sometimes they even have sale days where a certain kind of clothing or a special color of tag is an extra percentage off.

Shopping at a thrift or consignment store is a lot of fun too because quite often you can find that special item that you won't find anywhere else. Some stores will even have a stamp card or give you a percentage off if you donate as well. This is a great way to recycle your old clothing, clean out your closet, and get a whole new outfit with money to spare. You can even feel good about doing this as most of these stores are non profit and the money they make goes to a good cause. It's a win-win for everyone at closetfind.com
